Dear Families,

Lantern Walk

What a night Saturday was with almost 650 people in attendance for our 2024 Lantern Walk. Jelena and her team did an amazing job organising the event, which saw hundreds of lanterns move through the streets of Williamstown. It was great seeing local homes support the cause with candles and lighting placed along fence lines. A big thank you to Lynne, Faye and our choir team who performed on the night as well. Overall it was a great community event with the perfect weather highlighted by the beautiful full moon which shone bright over our bluestone building.

Congratulations and Thank you

As we finish off a huge term 2 we wanted to congratulate all our Willy Kids for an amazing fun filled term. The work that they have undertaken throughout the term has been amazing. We also wanted to thank  all our parents/carers and families for their support of events, fundraisers and volunteer work. The dedication of the school community is what makes Willy Primary such a special place.

We know our staff enjoyed meeting with families as part of our student conferences and a reminder to all the Semester 1 student reports are available via Compass.

End of Term Assembly (Week 11)

We are very excited to invite all families to the last assembly for term 2. This assembly will be held on Friday 28th June, 9:15am in the school hall. The assembly will be hosted by our grade 5 JSC, and will see the grade 5/6 team present the outcome of their inquiry election. We will also get to see the assembly conclude with our bands and choir performance.

Commemorative Tiles

As part of last year's 150 celebration we had scheduled to offer the school community a piece of school history with the installment of our 150 commemorative wall. Due to the number of events and activities, the decision was made to carry this project over to this year. In term 3 information will be communicated to families about how they can purchase a tile to commemorate their time at Willy Primary. The tiles will be installed on the Electra St side of the hall wall for our community to see for many years. More details will be communicated next term.

2025 Prep Enrolments

 A reminder that enrolment applications for families are due by the 26th July. If you have a child enrolling for foundation in 2025 please ensure your application forms are in by the designated date. 

If you know of families looking to enroll at the school for 2025, please encourage them to contact the school or submit their forms as soon as possible.

Just a reminder that the first day of Term 3 is a pupil free curriculum day. Staff will be undertaking essential CPR training as well as undertaking professional learning in the area of writing. Students recommence school for Term Three on Tuesday 16th July.
