Principal Message
Dear EMC Community,
As we head into the term break I would like to thank our staff, students, parent and carers for a wonderful term. Each and every term is a hive of activity, not a day passes without an event or a celebration. These events and opportunities presented to students come about from the dedicated and passionate staff that thrive on the success of others.
Recently we have had a number of well attended music and performance evenings with students show casing their talent and enthusiasm for their instrument or performance. Students thrive knowing that their parents, carers, family and friends are in attendance to see them perform and acknowledge the hours of practice and dedication required to get to this point.
Our sporting teams and individual sport events have had an amazing term with many wins both on and off the field. The development of strong relationships between students, and between the students and the teachers who give up their time to coach is what builds a strong sense of community and engagement with school.
The VCE Excellence program held a number of events ranging from presenter Nathan Burke discussing the highs and lows of success and that nothing exceptional comes without hard work and dedication, through to a presenter on how to tackle the GAT. Mr Riggs ensures the VCE Excellence study sessions continue to promote a positive and healthy study routine and support for students, whilst we finished the term with a Yr12 morning tea and celebration of their hard work and commitment. As we enter Term 3 we will see students in VCE busy completing SACs and preparing for exams, it is timely to remind students and families to ensure that they have a good study routine, maintain exercise and healthy eating and work with their teachers to ensure they have the best preparation possible.
The careers team have yet again run a number of events for students, from days at Monash University and The Age Careers Expo to beginning course counselling, subject supermarkets and Yr12 career pathway interviews. Term 3 will see Yr 9 students selecting programs for next year in our course counselling.
The college transition team has been busy visiting and hosting a number of our local primary students and are well under way in preparing many more events in the lead up to orientation day later in the year.
Semester 2 has had a very smooth start for staff and students and student reports will be available to families today. I encourage parents and carers to sit with their child and consider the learning opportunities that present in the report and to celebrate and acknowledge the success. Learning is a lifelong journey, what is your next step?
I wish all families and staff a peaceful and happy break, I hope you find time to enjoy a sunset, cook a meal together and laugh about something silly.

Recently a small number of parents have attended the College wanting to meet with a teacher. As our teachers are frequently teaching, it is not always possible to have them present without having booked a meeting time. Your concerns are important to us and we understand how important it is to be able to meet with you to discuss your concerns. To make this process a better use of everyone's time please ensure that you reach out to the staff member prior to arriving, to ensure that they are available, via the following options.
If you need to meet with a staff member please make contact with them to book a meeting time prior to attending at the College to ensure they are available at that time. You may either call the office to be put through to their voicemail or email the teacher directly via compass or email the college:
