Year 7 in 2025

What’s coming up……

Families will find out the Secondary school they have been allocated for 2025 on Wednesday 17th July 2024.  

Any students who have been successful in obtaining a position at EMC for 2025 will be contacted via the email address provided on the transition form on Thursday 18th July.  

On this date the College transition team will start to send out enrolment forms to be completed by all families.  Along with completion of these forms the College will also require the following documents to support your enrolment: -

• A copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport
• Proof of residence for enrolment. This will need to be:
  • Either rates notice or current lease agreement.
• Along with ONE of the following items   
  • A current Driver’s licence.
  • Current Centrelink document 
  • Utility bill no older than six months old
• Any COURT ORDER, IVO or Parenting plans that name your child as an effected person.

Our middle school specialist programs for Year 7 in 2025 will open to all students accepted into the College on Monday 22nd July at 9am via our college website. 

Students will require to upload the following documentation to support their application: -

• Grade six semester one school report
• A letter of aspiration written by the student as to why they would like to be in their chosen program
• A letter/reference from a community group/organisation/coach/association or mentor about their commitment in their team/program. We will not accept letters from current primary school teachers, principal, or school staff.

When submitting your applications, all students will need to book in to sit our PAT test on Thursday 15th August at 3.15pm.

Transition and Enrolments team:

It’s been a busy term for our transition team at the College as we successfully hosted the Year 6 Experience Day for all our feeder primary schools. This was a follow up event from last year where we hosted the Year 5 Experience Day back in 2023.

On the experience day, the year six students experienced a Maths, Drama, and PE class and a class lead by current Specialist Program students where they spoke about the four Specialist Programs and answered any questions the year six students had about secondary school in general.

These experience days provide an insight for our primary school students about how things are different at secondary school and hopefully squash some or any of the concerns they may have about secondary schools.

Over the coming term we look forward to welcoming our new families for 2025 year 7, this is a busy time as a college.  We use this time to really ensure that we know the most about our students coming over from all primary schools by meeting with the current year six teams, collecting data and holding a ‘Meet-The-Principal’ evening in late term four where families can touch base with our Principal team, Home group teachers, Wellbeing team and Inclusive Education team.
