Working Parts Gallery Workshop

On June 7th, the Working Parts Gallery held a workshop run by the school's art technician and local illustrator, Eleonora Arosio. The workshop allowed 40 students to follow the steps set by Eleonora in creating gorgeous wall-hanging dolls of their very own.

Born in Italy before moving to Melbourne in recent years, Eleonora has won numerous awards for her beautiful artworks and has worked with a range of high status clients like Deans art, City of Darebin and many more.

Eleonora's art style is one characterised by her playful characters and signature use of simple shapes and bold colours that create an essence of innocence and fun.

The beginning of the workshop started with a small talk from Eleonora outlining her extensive experience in the art industry, and we all got to learn about her illustrations in books, on billboards, on products and so many more places!

After that, we got to watch as Eleonora walked us through how to create one of her wall-hanging dolls, starting with a pencil sketch before starting to paint laser cut wooden dolls.

All of the creativity and personality shown in the students' artworks was absolutely spectacular, and it was wonderful to see all of the passion put into each and every one of the artworks.

A massive thank you to Eleonora for coming in and running the workshop, making it engaging for everyone and introducing students to a range of potential careers in the arts. Another huge thanks to the teachers who made the workshop possible, with the set up and clean up going smoothly.

For anyone interested in participating in the next art workshop that we run, feel free to reach out to Ms Hawkins(caroline.hawkins@thornburyhs.vic.edu.au) or Alivia(Vice Arts Captain-car0062@thornburyhs.vic.edu.au) to get put on the list of interest for next time!

We hope to get some more art workshops happening soon, so we can all have a chance at creating some amazing art for fun, letting our imagination run and creativity flourish.
