What's Happening in the F/1 Classroom?

Literacy

We have now concluded our Mystery of Me topic for Inquiry. It was so amazing to see all the students share their passions with the class. We even had some special visitors - thanks for joining us Butch and Ava! We hope you enjoyed seeing your child's display in the classroom this week. Some great learning involved: speaking, listening, writing, reading and more!

Numeracy

We have continued to work on counting, numbers and shape. The students have been engaged in lots of hands on activities to practice these skills. We have also delved into the intricacies of numbers and place value. Utilising tactile materials, we engaged in dynamic activities exploring addition, counting and number identification. The students also embarked on an exploration of the abstract concept of halves and wholes.

Science & Garden

In Science and Garden this week, the students learnt about quinces and decided to have a go at making some jam with it. It turned out beautifully - the students enjoyed it on some freshly cooked scones! They were fascinated with the colour change of the fruit once it is cooked. Another awesome lesson Ebony & Deb.

Harmony Day, Cross County & Easter Egg Hunt

We have been busy at school the past few weeks! We enjoyed learning all about Harmony Day and what it means, then creating some bracelets and hands for a display with our buddies. We had a great time at St. Luke's in Shepparton for our Cross Country run. Well done Charlie on coming first in his group! We also came together with Nagambie Primary School and Nagambie Preschool & Childcare for an Easter Egg Hunt!

Happy Holidays

What a fantastic term we have had in Foundation/1. We look forward to even more learning and fun next term! Enjoy your break and have a wonderful Easter with your families. Next term we welcome Gen, who will work on Thursdays and Fridays as Bridgette is on maternity leave.
