Principal's Message 

Welcome back

Welcome back to Term Two at Valkstone Primary School. 

I would like to welcome all the new students and families who have joined us this term. We hope you have started to settle in and we look forward on sharing all the wonderful things about Valkstone Primary School with you during your learning journey!

I would also like to welcome two new staff members to the school.

** Jess Williams has begun as the teacher of 5C for the rest of the year. She has returned from overseas travel and we are lucky to have her back with us!

** Emma Cann has joined us as the teacher in 2B, when Kate Howard heads off on Family Leave. We look forward to you all meeting Emma shortly, so please say hi if you see her in the line with the class at the start of the day.

School Opening Time - 8:45 a.m.

At Valkstone Primary School, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students is of paramount importance to all staff members. We take proactive measures to minimise the risk of accidents and maintain effective student supervision, including the period before school officially begins.

To facilitate this, our school gates open at 8:45 a.m., coinciding with the presence of staff members on yard duty who oversee the premises. This ensures immediate assistance in case of any student needs or incidents.

We kindly request that parents refrain from dropping off their children before 8:45 a.m., as supervision cannot be guaranteed prior to this time. Students arriving earlier pose a safety risk, as staff members are not yet present to provide assistance if required.

For families requiring earlier drop-off times due to work commitments or other reasons, we offer a convenient Before School Care program. This program operates every morning, providing a safe and supervised environment for students until regular yard supervision begins at 8:45 a.m.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in prioritising the safety of all students before the start of the school day. Thank you for your support in ensuring that our school community remains a safe and nurturing environment for all.
