SMAV FIESTA

Invitation to get involved -
Join Our St Mary’s Fiesta Team!
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we begin our preparations for one of the most anticipated events of the school year, the St. Mary's Fiesta on Friday 22nd November 2024, we are reaching out to you, our parent community, to invite your participation in making this year's event a smashing success.
The St. Mary's Fiesta is not just an event; it's a celebration that brings our community together, builds connection, a sense of inclusion and belonging and importantly raises funds to support key school initiatives. This year, we aim to make it bigger and better than ever before, and we need your help to achieve this goal.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic parents and carers to coordinate various aspects of the Fiesta. Your involvement is crucial in ensuring that the event runs smoothly so that everyone can enjoy the event. You will work alongside members of the Parents and Friends committee in a supportive and collaborative environment. A commitment to attend one virtual meeting per month will be the minimum requirement. Closer to the event, we typically hold a few more regular meetings to finalise all preparations and build that sense of excitement.
A lot of thought has already gone into key elements of planning for the day from our Parents and Friends group.
We know we have so many skilled and dedicated parents in our community and below are some areas where we need your expertise and leadership:
Food and Beverage Coordinator:
Do you have a knack for culinary delights? We need parents to suggest and coordinate a few food vendors and ensure a delicious array of options are available for all. This role will work closely with representatives from our St Mary’s Father’s Association who co-ordinate the bar and BBQ at the Fiesta.
Entertainment and Activities Coordinator:
Do you have a creative side? Help us plan and organise engaging activities and entertainment for all age groups, making the Fiesta a night to remember for all. P and F leadership have made already made a start on this with some rides for the children (and big children) on the day.
Volunteer Coordinator:
Are you a natural leader with great organisational skills? Come and assist us in recruiting and coordinating volunteers to ensure that all tasks are covered, from setup to cleanup and ensuring everyone gets a chance to sample the Fiesta atmosphere.
Logistics and Operations Coordinator:
Are you detail-oriented and resourceful? We need someone to oversee logistics such as setup, signage, and other operational aspects to ensure a seamless event experience.
Marketing and Communications Coordinator:
Are you creative and an amazing communicator? Support our efforts in promoting the Fiesta through online and offline channels to effectively convey the event's message and drive attendance.
If any of these areas resonate with you, we would love to hear from you. Your contribution will make a significant difference in the success of our Fiesta.
Getting involved and playing your part (small or large) in a large successful school event is a great feeling. You will build new connections at the school, make new friends, learn new skills, have a sense of pride for simply being part of it, laugh a lot and most of all, really enjoy seeing the smiles on your kids and family faces.
