Hello Families,

We have been having and amazing time at the service over the last two weeks and we are so excited to share all our fun with you! Week 7 and 8 played out as follows:

Week 7 – ‘Decades Disco’

This week we immersed ourselves into the concepts of a ‘Decades Disco’. We spent out time doing a wide array of activities over the course of the week. A fan favourite activity was individual paper spinner toys. The children were so excited when they saw different coloured paper folded together to form a spinner and served for countless hours of enjoyment.  Another favourite activity this week was the creation of our beaded dreamcatchers. The children thought that it was amazing that they could select beads to go on the dreamcatcher and some of the beads changed colour in the sun. We also spent some time using the art mediums of paint and glitter to make our very own disco heart ornaments. The children were so proud of their creations. Drawing away from this week theme the children have shown great interests in soccer and cricket play outside. It is amazing to see children from all year levels join to play a game collaboratively. It has been such a fun week.

Week 8 – ‘Around The World’

This week we are imagining ourselves in many different places around the world and seeing all that we can learn about these respective places. We have had an amazing time exploring many different countries. We started our week by making some paper passports where children got to choose where they would ‘travel’ to. We followed up this activity by making our own model mini aeroplanes. These were formed out of pegs and popsicle sticks and the children had lots of fun decorating them. Throughout the week we also spent time making Egyptian Pyramid crafts and paper plate Koalas. Drawing away from the craft side of our week we also got busy in the kitchen making some Australian inspired Anzac Cookies and some Italian inspired Pizza’s. We are intending to end our week by making a world flag garland that we will display around the room.

Sun Safety

As always being in Term 1, children must wear hats when engaging in outdoor play. Can I please ask parents and guardians that you remind your child to bring their hat over to TheirCare so that we can go outside and enjoy all the sun has to offer safely! If preferred we have a tub at the service, your child is welcome to bring a spare sun-safe hat that is named that they keep at the service and use throughout the Year! Sunscreen will be applied before going outside every day, if your child requires a particular sunscreen, please do not hesitate to let me know so that I can accommodate for this!

2024 April Holiday Program

The upcoming Holiday Program is finalised, and bookings are now active via the FullyBooked Website. We are so excited to immerse ourselves in our newest Holiday Program Theme ‘Art Attack’ and even more excited to head out on our excursion days! These holidays we are heading out to the Movies, a Children’s Comedy Festival, and the Melbourne Zoo. Our In-House days consist of making Bath Bombs, Cooking, Dance Parties and LOADS more. We hope to see as many of you there as possible ready to undertake this phenomenal theme. Please find a digital copy of our Holiday Program flyers underneath this insert or alternatively come and collect a hard copy flyer from the TheirCare room!
