From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Caregivers
The end of Term One is just around the corner! Our students are almost ready for a break, as are our staff. Our students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 have continued to work hard, play well and have fun along the way. I would like to congratulate all of our students on their efforts and achievements this term. All our staff at St Helena's Catholic Primary School work very hard to ensure that the best interests of our students is at the forefront of all that we do. I wish to acknowledge and thank them all for their commitment and efforts.
This week we have enjoyed celebrating Harmony Week and the many cultures that come together at St Helena's Catholic Primary School each day. We are blessed to have such a multicultural school. Thank you to Miss Bennell for organising the week and staff in supporting the initiatives. Students and Staff are coming to school tomorrow in their cultural clothes, or wearing orange in acknowledging Harmony Week. We are also looking forward to coming together with Ellenbrook Primary School to participate in some Harmony Day performances.
Thank you for everyone's efforts in raising funds for Caritas - Project Compassion over the season of Lent. There have been many exciting events held at recess and lunch over the last few weeks. Thank you to our staff and students for organising and supporting the activities and donating towards Project Compassion.
Thank you to all our parents and caregivers for your support in ensuring that you have kept up with communications, supporting your child/ren and the SHCPS staff as we work together to support your child/ren's learning journey. I hope all parents/caregivers have now either had, or organised a Teacher/Parent Interview with your child's teacher in Kindergarten to Year 6. These interviews are really important and give teachers the opportunity to let you know how your child/ren are going, as well as giving you the opportunity to share your observations that you have made in your child/ren's learning.
It was great to come together as a community at the Welcome Sundowner on Friday 8 March. A huge thank you to the P&F Committee and all the helpers leading up to the Sundowner. It was an awesome school community event with lots for all to participate in, and a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and families.
Enrolment Interviews for Kindergarten in 2025 are continuing to take place. Families with siblings seeking a place in our Kindergarten next year at St Helena's are asked to ensure that you have sent in your enrolment applications to Administration.
We are looking forward to the Holy Week Prayer Services next week, throughout the week, commencing at 8:25am each morning. All welcome! We will also be holding our Easter Egg raffle on Thursday afternoon at 1:35pm. Thank you to the P&F Committee for coordinating the Easter Egg raffle and to all who will be purchasing some tickets. More information in other sections of the newsletter.
I will be away on System Leaders' Renewal Leave from 15 April until 30 April. In my absence Miss Melissa Myles will be Acting Principal, supported by Mr Luke Vine.
Next Thursday is the last day of Term 1. On behalf of the staff, we wish all our community a Holy Easter and safe and happy holidays! We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 15 April as we commence Term 2.
At St Helena's, we are a Christ-centred and a child-focused community,
always striving to do Something Beautiful for God.
Peace & Happy Days!
