A message from our new Coordinator
Hello NMPS families! If you have not already met me, my name is Libby Hanna. I’ve been with Biz-E-Kidz for 10 years so far, starting as an Educator while at uni and now I am in the incredible position of being Coordinator.
Sharon Goodwin has been at Biz-E-Kidz for over 25 years and is leaving after being headhunted to lead an important new initiative at our national advocacy body. To call Sharon the cornerstone of Biz-E-Kidz feels like an understatement. Her legacy extends far beyond Biz-E-Kidz to the hundreds upon hundreds of children she has provided a welcoming, dependable second home for - most now teenagers and adults, some of whom have their own children and some of whom have worked or volunteered at Biz-E-Kidz. As importantly, Sharon has influenced the pedagogy of hundreds of Educators who continue to work closely with children all throughout Melbourne and beyond, and many of whom are now teachers, several at NMPS! (Mark, Georgie A, Georgie M, Tess V, to name a few).
At Biz-E-Kidz our Philosophy is wellbeing, empowerment, belonging. The acronym for this is ‘web’ and we see this web as linking everyone who is and ever has been part of Biz-E-Kidz together in an intricately connected and unique community. Sharon’s legacy could also be described this way. Although she is leaving Biz-E-Kidz now, that web and its ongoing influence will always be there.
Thank you so much Sharon. You're very much an adult, but as the saying goes, once a Biz-E-Kid, always a Biz-E-Kid!
