Author’s Visit with Lachlann Carter 

On Monday the 28th of April, an author visited NMPS and the year 3 cohort did a workshop. Lachlann Carter makes books called Big Trouble and his new book which is Part 3 is going to come out in October, 2025. His second book was released this past weekend and we would recommend that you read it. 

In the workshop we were working on making books. They were imaginative and creative. First we decided on our setting, some examples include Minecraft worlds, fantasy worlds, even a place called Sock world! We made a map of where the story would take place. 

After we did the map we worked on our characters, there was a hero and the hero's pet, there was also a backpack and the angry objects. We also gave the angry objects skills like super flipping abilities, invisibility, going through lava abilities, and not being able to feel pain! 

At the end we created a story idea using the setting and characters to help us. All of our stories had problems and solutions. The year 3 cohort really liked the workshop and were really intrigued about how he writes his stories. 

We really wish he would come back and teach at our school because he was so funny!
