BOTTLE CAP COLLECTION COMPETITION

The Enviro Team is excited to announce the launch of our Bottle Cap Collection Competition!

Competition Details:

  • Objective: Collect as many plastic bottle lids as possible. Lids need to be smaller than a credit card, clean, and with no inserts.
  • Dates: Week 4 – Week 11, ending on the 4th of July.
  • Who Can Participate: All students, staff, and families.

How It Works:

  1. Collect Lids: Gather plastic bottle caps from home and encourage friends and family to contribute as well. Hand them to your teacher during Connect on Fridays.
  2. Drop-Off Locations: Collection bin is located outside my office, in C Block, between rooms C1 and C13. Be sure to label your collection with your Connect class.
  3. Track Progress: The Enviro Team will weigh class collections every Monday.

 Why Participate?

Did you know that plastic smaller than a credit card cannot be recycled and ends up in landfill? This plastic can end up in our local environments, choking marine wildlife, damaging soil, poisoning groundwater, and causing serious health impacts. To help combat this issue and repurpose small plastics into everyday items, Lids for Kids is collecting and recycling plastic lids.

Prizes:

The class with the most lids collected will receive a hot chip lunch. Winners will be announced start of Term 3.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm!
