Sustainability in Action

Welcome to Term 2! We have a busy program ahead with lots happening in our school sustainability program. This will include:

  • Digging over our gardens, adding manure, weeding and mulching. Planting new crops including lettuce, garlic, silverbeet, broad beans, onions and other veggies.
  • Learning about and setting up a school compost area.
  • Developing our worm farms
  • Learning to propagate plants from cuttings

STRAWBERRY PLANTS FOR MOTHER'S DAY

Over the past 2 weeks all classes from Prep to Grade 6 have been potting up small strawberry plants to give to their mums/special person for Mothers’ Day. All of these strawberry plants have been grown from runners from our larger strawberry plants growing in our school gardens. The children have done a great job planting these strawberry plants!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you can assist, let our school office know or email me (luch.brighella@catholic.tas.edu.au). Please ensure you have a current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
