SAKG Program

 

Oven Baked Spring Rolls

ingredients

2 tablespoons of sunflower oil

1 clove of garlic

2 cm knob of ginger

3 spring onions

¼ of a chinese cabbage

1 carrot

1 celery stalk

2 teaspoons of soy sauce

¾ teaspoon of sugar

1.4 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of cornflour

1 pkt spring roll wrappers

 

method

Oven 180 C

Finely chop the garlic.

Grate the ginger.

Finely chop the spring onions.

Finely chop the cabbage.

Grate the carrot.

Finely chop the celery.

Measure out all the other ingredients.

 

Place a wok over a high heat, add the oil. Stir in the garlic, ginger, spring onions. Cook for 30 seconds. Add the cabbage, carrot and celery, and cook for a further 3 minutes.

 

Add the soy, sugar, salt, pepper, oyster sauce and cornflour, cook for a further 2 minutes.

 

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and allow to cool.

 

Place the spring roll wrappers on the bench and add a spoonful of filling diagonally across it.

 

Brush the sides with water, fold the corner nearest to you over the filling, then fold in the other corner.

 

Roll up firmly to encase all the filling.

 

Repeat this process until all the wrappers are used.

 

Place the spring rolls onto a lined baking tray, brush each roll with a little sunflower oil and bake for 20 minutes or until golden.

Help with our Chooks - please!

We are desperately needing volunteers for looking after our chooks in the SAKG.

 

The chooks have very simple needs - checking food & water and locking away after school.

 

It's simple fun and can be done at drop off & pick up.
