ADF Careers Presentation at DVC. (Yrs 10 – 12)

Students from Years 10 – 12 who may be interested in attending an ADF presentation here at DVC are asked to email or message me an expression of interest in attending. The event will be held in the Auditorium 2pm on the 26th of June.

Yr 9 My Career Insights Profiling

Yr 9 students will be participating in DET initiative My Career Insights. Parents need to provide consent for their student to participate in the full program. The full program sees the students undertake the completion of a series of questionnaires and psychometric tests, which combined are used to generate a “Career Profile” for students. This is supported by an external consultant conducting a counselling session with the student to discuss their results. Parents of Yr 9 students are asked to provide consent for this event on compass.

Year 10 Tertiary Excursion (29th May Universities, 4th August TAFEs)

As a part of the career development program for our Yr 10s all students will visit both the University sector and the TAFE sector of the tertiary system. The purpose of the visits is to provide students with the chance to visit the campuses, see the facilities and hopefully get a taste for further education. The secondary purpose of the visit is to challenge the misconception that some students have about each of these sectors and enable the students to see that both University and TAFE can offer all a viable next step. Parents in Yr 10 are asked to provide consent for their student for this event if they have not done so already.
