Middle School Report

Welcome to Term 2!

We’re thrilled to share that Term 2 has started off on a fantastic note for our Year 9 and 10 students! They’ve returned with great energy, enthusiasm, and a positive mindset, setting the tone for an exciting and productive term ahead. It’s been wonderful to see everyone settle back into school life, reconnecting with friends and teachers while diving into new learning opportunities.

So far, our students have participated in school photos and a warm welcome assembly. A big congratulations to our Year 9 students for completing their NAPLAN assessments with fantastic attendance and focus. Looking ahead, we have several exciting events on the calendar: From year 10 exams and work experience to Interschool Sports on May 22nd, the annual Big Freeze fundraiser on May 23rd, and a Celebration Assembly to wrap up the term.

Additionally, students will be taking part in the Attitudes to School Survey, which provides valuable feedback to help us continue improving their learning experience. We look forward to seeing students engage in these events and make the most of the opportunities ahead.

As the colder months approach, we’d also like to remind families that hoodies are not part of the school uniform. To stay warm, students are encouraged to wear the school rugby jumper, the official school jacket, or a plain white layer underneath their school tops, in line with the uniform policy.

Year 9 Leadership Camp

Congratulations to Our Leadership Camp Participants!

We are proud to announce that we have five successful applicants who have been selected to attend the upcoming Leadership Camp in Term 3. These students stood out during a rigorous interview process that highlighted their dedication, communication skills, and leadership potential.

During their time at the camp, they will engage in a range of activities designed to build valuable personal, social, and leadership skills. We’re confident they will return with new insights and experiences that will benefit not only their own development but also the wider college community.

Congratulations once again to our future leaders—we’re excited to see the positive impact you’ll make!

Year 10 Exams Approaching

As we move through the term, we would like to remind families that Year 10 exams are fast approaching and will take place in Weeks 9 and 10 of this term. Students will sit an exam for each of their subjects, and it is expected that all students attend.

These exams provide valuable preparation for the demands of the VCE years, helping students build essential skills in time management, exam technique, and subject knowledge. For any students who are absent, catch-up exams will be organised.

We ask for the support of all families in ensuring strong attendance during this period, as this experience is an important step in our students’ academic journey.

Year 10 Work Experience – Week 11

A reminder to all families that Year 10 students will be participating in Work Experience during Week 11, the final week of this term. This is a compulsory component of the Year 10 program and a valuable part of each student’s educational journey.

Work Experience provides students with the opportunity to explore career interests, gain practical workplace skills, and develop confidence in a real-world setting. It also helps them make informed decisions about their future pathways as they begin to consider life beyond school.

We appreciate your support in ensuring your child is prepared and ready to make the most of this important experience.

Year 10 Life Choices Program – Week 5

We are pleased to inform you that our Year 10 students will be participating in the Life Choices Program during Week 5 of this term. This important initiative is part of our commitment to supporting student wellbeing and personal development.

The Life Choices Program delivers evidence-informed sessions designed to raise students’ awareness of the impact of their decisions—both short-term and long-term. It encourages young people to reflect on how their choices affect not only their immediate circumstances but also their overall happiness, relationships, and future opportunities.

We believe this program will offer valuable insights and support our students in making informed, positive decisions as they navigate adolescence and prepare for senior school.

 Year 9 Art & Design

This semester, our Year 8 Art and Design students have been busy bringing creativity to life by designing and crafting their very own personalised ceramic mugs. To celebrate their efforts, we hosted a hot chocolate party where everyone had the chance to enjoy a warm drink and a biscuit using their handmade creations. Well done to all the students for their hard work and imagination!
