It has been a great start to term 2 in instrumental music. Our young musicians are showing real commitment attending their weekly lessons and rehearsals. All ensembles are making good progress which is a great sign.

East Gippsland Music Festival

This event will take place at Bairnsdale Secondary College in the last week of term 2. It involves students in the junior and intermediate concert bands and our string students. Notices will go out soon to all students involved.

Concert

The Instrumental Music department will be holding a concert on Monday 19th May 2025. This will take place in the Theatrette. The concert will commence at 7pm. It will feature soloists, small group items, rock group, string ensemble and our junior and intermediate concert bands. Our young musicians are looking forward to performing. The evening will celebrate and showcase their achievements, and I have no doubt there will be a few surprises on the night. Students need to arrive no later than 6.30pm in their band uniform. A reminder the concert will be taking place in the Theatrette.

Learn a musical instrument

It’s never too late to learn a musical instrument. Pop over to A1 anytime and see Miss Keane or myself to discuss having a trial on any of the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Cello, Piano, Guitar and Voice. Music is fun!
