Primary Inter-House Cross Country Carnival
Dear Parents and Carers
We have had a positive, if warm, start to Term 2 and it has been wonderful to watch our young people gather again as the term begins, confident and engaged in their community. Already the term has held some significant events which have allowed us to come together, including the fun and colour of both the Primary and Secondary Inter-House Cross Country Carnivals, as well as some beautiful Mother's Day celebrations in ELC, and beyond.
In speaking to our Year 9 students, I know that the fun and adventure of their recent Encounter has been a highlight of the year for many so far. I hope that they have shared with their families some great Encounter stories of the opportunities to challenge themselves, work together, and just to have fun that made for a very successful and enjoyable experience. Many thanks to Mel Fowler and all staff involved for their hard work and care in preparing and running these opportunities.
Our education program in Term 2 sees the continuation of our Leadership Program for our Year 12s and the beginning of the Keys for Life, driving education program for our Year 10 cohort, and it was great to be with so many of our Year 10 parents at the Parent Information Evening last week.
I would also like to congratulate all students who took part in the Scholarship testing morning on Saturday 10 May. It was a long morning of rigorous academic testing, our students engaged with in a positive and enthusiastic way. I wish all involved the very best with their results.
Uniform
As we move into Week 4, please be advised we will transition to full Winter Uniform from Monday 19 May. Please view the Uniform Guide for additional information.
In the Secondary School, our female students now have the choice to wear either the black School tights with their winter formal uniform (as currently is the case), or to swap the tights for the white socks which are worn with the formal summer uniform.
Uniform Store
As a part of our ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of service to the community, we have been working with the School’s uniform supplier, Tara Uniforms, around their opening hours, flexibility and accessibility.
Monday 26 May is the last day that our Uniform Store will be operating from the current premises on campus. Unfortunately, this will mean that the Uniform Store will not be open for the week from Tuesday 27 May to Tuesday 3 June.
We are delighted that, from Tuesday 3, June John Wollaston families will be able to purchase uniform, in store, with significantly increased opening hours across Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays, during school terms.
From 3 June the new location of the Uniform Store will be, Unit 2/2 Panama Street Canning Vale (just off Nicholson Road).
We will continue to offer the options of:
Further information on the upcoming relocation of the Uniform Store, as well as some great images, of many of the events mentioned here can be found throughout the Newsletter.
