TERM 4

We have had a great start to Term 4 with everyone settled in and making amazing progress with their learning.  Teachers will soon be busy completing assessement  and writing end of year reports. This is a real time of celebration as we see how far the students have come in just a year.

Here is a snap shot around the classrooms this morning at 10:00am.

Colour Run Tomorrow!

What an amazing response for our school community in fundraising with our Junior School Council.  With over $9000 raised so far we are looking forward to a great afternoon tomorrow.  If you are around at 2:30, head down to the oval and watch all the action, or grab a bottle of colour and help create the magic.   The weather is looking cool, so please ensure your child packs a jumper and/or a change of clothes.  Well done, Mullum PS!

Festival of Hidden Treasures

Only four weeks away!  Here is a quick run down of where we are at:

  • It is now time to start broadcasting to the wider community.  We have bundles of about 100 flyers to deliver into letterboxes of houses in the streets around the school.  We are looking for volunteers to help distribute these.  Check in at the office for maps and flyers.
  • Donations are rolling in.  This week we are collecting chocolate blocks and lollies for the Chocolate Toss game and the Lolly Shop!  Next fortnight we are collecting Lucky Jars that are filled with small items of interest to children, this could be lollies, small toys, cards, trinkets, hair ties etc... we are also collecting empty jars that can be filled.  Donations of books, toys and clothes continue to be accepted. Keep sending these along to the school office.
  • At assembly tomorrow we will draw the first free wrist band for rides on the day. This prize will go to one of our many families who have donated goods for the Festival.  Their name will be added to the list to collect their free wrist band on the day of the Festival.
  • Wrist Bands for unlimited rides are available now to purchase ahead of the Festival at $25 each. Forms have been sent home to families and are also available at the office.
  • If you have some time on Friday 22 November (the day before the Festival) after the school assembly (around 9:20) we will be setting up the hall for the Book and Toy Stalls, collecting and storing the produce items.  We would love an extra hand if you are around.
  • Volunteers from across the community are needed to help support the stalls the classes are running.  Below is a SIGNUP link for you to see where you may be able to assist.

Smile Squad Six Month Fluoride Varnish Visit

The EACH Smile Squad team are heading back to our school to complete six-monthly fluoride varnish applications for those students who have provided consent.  They are scheduled to come to Mullumon Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November.  Fluoride varnish applications help make sure students have the best chance of preventing tooth decay, so we’re excited Smile Squad are coming back.  Consent for this fluoride varnish application was provided when students’ initial consent forms were returned. However, if anyone has changed their mind and do not wish to receive a fluoride varnish application, please contact Smile Squad through the details below:
