COMMUNITY CONSULTATION - Increasing shade

This year our School Council Facilities subcommittee has been investigating the various ways we can increase shade and possibly protection from the rain in our school. The committee now seeks school community feedback.

A compass post has been sent to parents explaining the two options being proposed along with a link to a google form so you can provide your preference and any feedback.

The Facilities committee will be meeting on Thursday 14 November to review school community perspectives so it’s important to have your say by Tuesday 12 November.

School Savings Bonus (SSB) - is your child enrolled for school in 2025?

Thank you, parents and carers, for updating your email addresses in readiness to receive information from the Education Department about the $400 (per student) school savings bonus.

It is important to note that no further funding will be provided to students (or families) who enrol in schools after 15 November

We believe the SSB portal is currently being tested and schools will soon receive further instructions to send to families.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Remembrance Day, an important part of Australia’s history will be recognised and acknowledged on Monday 11 November.

We will be observing a minute of silence in respect for those who have served our country in the past and current wars. Our school captains will provide a brief service over the public address system so that students gain a better understanding of Australia’s part in the historical Armistice Day and why a red poppy is usually worn.

COFFEE VAN AND WELCOME

On Tuesday 12 November, we welcome our 2025 prep students and their families as this will be their first transition visit to the school. Theircare have organised a coffee van for all of our parents and will use this opportunity to promote the before and after school care program.

Before and After School Supervision: It is important to remember that teachers are not on duty until 8:45am or after school from 3:45pm. Students who need to come to school earlier than 8:45am or who have working parents and need supervision after school, should be enrolled into Theircare.

THEIRCARE ‘Best Lunchtime Event’.

To promote the before and after school care service, Theircare will be running a lunchtime event ‘The Best Lunchtime Ever’. They will set up fun games and activities in the hall with students from Prep to Year 4 being invited.

We’ll post more details closer to the date so working parents can encourage their children to attend. After school care is a lot more fun when you have your friends also attending so the ‘Best Lunchtime’ will be an opportunity for students to find out what the program has to offer.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

We have a number of external organisations who run after school activities on our school grounds for interested students on a user pays basis.

These organisations are in the process of planning for 2025  and extra curricular activities can only occur when there is enough interest to make it financially viable for the company. To assist them, we thought it would help to provide you with their website address so you can decide what is suitable for your child next year.

If your child is interested in one of these activities, please contact the organisation directly.

Activities include:
