Celebrations of Learning and Community

YEAR 12 CELEBRATION DAY

Our Year 12's had a wonderful celebration day, with a walk around the College with fellow students looking on from all year levels, ending with the tree planting ceremony. They then went on to have a wonderful day at funfields. Good luck to all our Year 12's with your exams!

YEAR 10 SCIENCE POSTER SHOWCASE

Our Year 10 Science Poster Expo showcased experimental investigations we each chose and conducted. We designed and carried out experiments, and then created detailed posters to explain our methods, findings, and conclusions.

The expo allowed us to share our projects with students from other grades, who visited to learn about our work. We presented our experiment designs, shared interesting data, and answered questions about our research process, giving younger students a glimpse into hands-on science. This experience helped us develop our presentation skills and inspired curiosity and learning across different year levels. - Year 10 Science Extension Class

YEAR 11 FUTSAL COMPETITION (AKA THE 'DION LEAGUE')

The Year 11 Futsal competition, AKA the ‘Dion League’, kicked off with a bang, Term 3, Week 5. The idea for the competition came from students who were currently playing football during their lunch time as a fun activity and through discussions with their teachers, thought it would be a great idea to turn it into a competitive event. Students were able to get teachers onboard to support the event and, from this, there emerged 5 teams. The first few weeks were the inaugural season where teams were competing to play off in finals. The final four weeks were the culmination of finals.

The two teams playing off in the Grand Final were 2 Scoops and FC China. This event was supported by many students and teachers who were engrossed in the thrilling game. All the spectators were cheering on their favourite teams. The favourite team, 2 Scoops, went into the game as favourites after enduring a successful season placing first.  FC China were quite obviously the underdogs after enduring many hard events during the competition. The game was a hard fought and thrilling match. In the first half, 2 Scoops scored a goal which led to huge celebrations from the team.

However, FC China were determined to fight back but fell short and when the whistle blew, 2 Scoops were victorious. Great fun was had by all teams throughout the competition and hopefully, we’ll be able to kick off again next year commencing in early start for the first season of 2025.
