Term 4 Altar Server Training with Father Jackson

As a Parish school we are fully committed to maintaining a deep tradition with our connection to St Brendan’s Church.

Last Tuesday, I was very proud to enlist ten new Altar Serving recruits. Along with some of our current Year 3/ 4 Altar Servers,  we attended a one hour training session with Father Jackson.  Father Jackson ran the students through a ‘speed’ version of a whole Mass and provided the new servers with plenty of ‘hands-on’ experience; from holding the candles, ringing the bell, to setting and packing up the altar during Eucharist.

The new recruits were very excited to attend the training session and couldn’t wait to take their turn in learning the various jobs.  They also can’t wait to serve at their first Mass, this Thursday at the 9.15am Mass.

We give thanks to all our students who take on this special Ministry and we keep them in our prayers, to model well the virtues of Jesus as they actively participate in the Mass.

We also give THANKS for Father Jackson who assists the students with the training.  He is always super impressed with our student’s willingness to commit to this special ministry and undertake it with great respect and reverence.

Thank you to the students and Father Jackson, it is wonderful to witness and be a part of, for our wonderful Church and Parish.
