Congratulations to Madeline on Receiving the Prestigious SAGSE Scholarship

We are thrilled to announce that our Year 11- student, Madeline B has been awarded a 2024 SAGSE (Scholarships for Australian German Student Exchange) scholarship. She is one of just 10 students from across Victoria to receive this scholarship this year after taking part in a rigorous selection process. The scholarship offers students the opportunity to experience an international exchange in Germany, where they will immerse themselves in German culture, language, and education for several months. Madeline will travel to Germany in the end of November.

Madeline was presented with this incredible scholarship at a ceremony held in Melbourne on Friday, 18 October. The event was attended by recipients, their families, representatives from SAGSE, sponsors of the scholarship, German teachers, and the Honorary Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Melbourne.

We are incredibly proud of Madeline for her hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for the German language, which has led to this well-deserved achievement. We wish her all the best as she prepares for this life-changing experience in Germany!

Year 10 Students Celebrate German Culture at Rangeview Primary's Oktoberfest

On Thursday, 17th October, our Year 10 German students had the wonderful opportunity to attend Rangeview Primary School’s Oktoberfest celebration. This event was not only a lively introduction to German culture but also provided a platform for our students to engage with the younger participants, practice their language skills, and enjoy a hands-on learning experience.

Working in pairs, the students rolled up their sleeves to prepare and serve delicious pancakes to the children and teachers. Their teamwork and culinary efforts ensured that everyone enjoyed the traditional treats. Beyond the kitchen, our students also took on the role of mentors, guiding the primary school children through a variety of German-themed crafts and games.

As a special thank-you for their hard work, each Year 10 student was rewarded with a large, salted German pretzel at the end of the celebration - a great way to wrap up the day.

This collaboration with Rangeview Primary was a fantastic opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in German culture, develop their language skills in a practical setting, and foster meaningful connections with the younger students. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to future events where they can continue to grow and learn.

Best of Luck to Our Year 12 German and French Students!

A big shout-out to our Year 12 German and French students who are preparing to sit their final VCE language exams! After years of dedication, hard work, and countless hours spent mastering vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening and writing skills, these students are ready to showcase their abilities.

The German exam will take place on Tuesday, 19th November, followed by the French exam on Wednesday, 20th November. These assessments mark the culmination of their language learning journey, and we are incredibly proud of their perseverance and commitment.

Learning a language is no easy feat—it takes discipline, curiosity, and a lot of practice. These students have demonstrated all of that and more, embracing the challenges along the way.

We wish them the very best of luck in their exams! Your teachers, friends, and families are cheering you on as you take these final steps. Viel Glück! Bonne chance! 🎉
