How is it already the final Term of 2024!?!?!? You know what they say .. time goes quickly when you are having fun – that is exactly what Geography is providing the students at VSC. Meaningful, fun and relevant hands on and tangible learning experiences to form a deeper rich understanding of the content covered in class. It creates a much more personal connection with the topic.
With only three weeks of the term so far, Half of our lovely year levels have already partaken in fieldwork. Our Year 8s investigated Landforms and Landscapes at Blackburn Lake, where they were featured in the official website, how cool! We hope to see some of you next year in Out in the Town, as well as the mainstream geo! Much like the current 9OUT geographical warriors who went to the CBD to analyse its sustainability.
Our Year 10s went in different directions from Vermont. Students from the Big Picture headed to the CBD to investigate the Ethics of zoos and aquariums, whilst the Geography in Action class headed to Brighton, Elwood and St Kilda to analyse the effectiveness of coastal management.
Finally, our Year 11s also headed near the CBD, to Richmond, to investigate sport tourism and the impact it has on social conditions, the economy and the environment. How crazy to think they will be our senior geo kids in just a few weeks! They have grown up so fast!
We also wish the Year 12 Geography kids, and all Year 12s for that matter, good luck in all their exams, regardless of subject!
