Scholastic Book Fair

Get ready for an exciting evening at our Scholastic Book Fair on Community Night, 7th November, also open on Wednesday 6th November from 3:30 to 4:30pm! Tirkandi library will be transformed into a magical bookstore, filled with an amazing selection of books and fun stationery for the whole family to enjoy.

In the week leading up to the Book Fair evening, all students will have the opportunity to explore the bookcases and create a Wishlist of their favourite titles. If you can’t attend the event, a pre-payment option is available.

Whether you're looking for adventurous tales, inspiring stories, or creative supplies, there’s something for everyone! It's the perfect chance to find new reads and support our school library at the same time.

LNPS Playgroup

Lauren Robertson is our fantastic Playgroup Coordinator and she has some amazing things planned for our Tuesday Playgroups this term.

Every Tuesday we hold our LNPS Playgroup. Come along with your birth to 4-year-olds between 1:30 and 3:00 pm in our LNPS library for some connection-building, playtime and interactive learning.

Borrowing

Reception - Can borrow 4 books

Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books

Years 5 and 6 - Can borrow 10 books

Parents/Caregivers - Can borrow 10 books

Books can be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks. All that is required for borrowing is a library bag (for Reception, Year 1/2) and no overdue books. Students are encouraged to manage their own library bags and to borrow regularly.

Returns

Students can return books by placing them in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in Tirkandi. Please note that only staff members are allowed to return books and use the returns computer. If a book is returned damaged, please place it in the Book Doctor box for repairs.

Library Computer Borrowing

Library computer borrowing is available only for students in Years 3 to 6. The borrowing period runs from 8:40 AM to 8:50 AM. Computers can be borrowed by those who have either damaged their own computers or forgotten to bring them to school.

When you borrow a computer, we will record your name, class, and the computer's barcode. Each student must borrow a computer under their own name.

Please remember that all borrowed computers must be returned to the library by the end of the day. If a student forgets to return their computer three times, they will be unable to borrow for three days. Should this happen again, the borrowing restriction period will be extended.

Please note that these computers are secondhand, so they may be slower or have keys that are a bit tricky to use. If you notice any other damages, please inform your teachers, IT staff, or me directly.

Overdue, Lost or Damaged Books

The school library policy regarding overdue, lost, or damaged books is as follows:

If a library book is overdue or lost for 2 weeks or more, or if it is returned damaged, a fee of $15 will be charged. However, if the book is found or returned, you will be reimbursed the full amount.

Please note that students will not be able to borrow any additional books until the overdue book is returned or the payment is made. The fees collected are used to replace the lost or damaged book. Thank you for your understanding!
