Secondary Sub School News

Hello Secondary Team,

I hope everyone is enjoying this slightly shorter week and that you had a wonderful day yesterday. It’s always a bit of a relief to get through the midpoint of the week, and I trust you’re making good progress on your tasks—whether it's ticking things off the checklist with reports, SSGs, student profiles, or any other items on your to-do list.

Personally, I find that setting goals and having things to look forward to really helps me push through the busier times. For instance, when the workload feels overwhelming, I remind myself that I'll soon be embarking on a 14-night cruise to New Zealand, which departs the day after we finish school in December. It’s a small mental escape that helps me stay focused and motivated!

It was so good to see our students engaged and excited during today’s farm animal incursion. The smiles on their faces—and on the faces of our staff—were absolutely priceless. It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.

I would also like to remind everyone that reviews of Professional Development Plans (PDPs) will be taking place in the coming weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for you to reflect on your progress and accomplishments in relation to the goals you set during Term One.

Here are some key dates to remember, I am sure I have missed a few but will add to these as the term goes on.

  • SSG meetings will be starting soon. Please make sure all meeting times are scheduled and that you have the necessary data and goals prepared for discussions with parents. This is an important opportunity to ensure we continue providing support for our students.
  • Group 1 Camp. (Leaving 25/11/24 Back on the 27/11/24)
  • Group 2 Camp (Leaving 04/12/24 Back on the 06/12/24)
  • Curriculum Day – 13th December
  • Last Day of School – 20th December: Students finish at 1:00 pm

I also want to thank each of you for your flexibility and support.

Thank you for all that you do!

Bill
