Foundation News

Our Foundation students have had a wonderful start to Term 4! This term, we are exploring Living Things, learning all about plants and animals and what they need to survive. The students are especially excited to be creating their own “Hairy Harrys” and observing how plants grow, as well as discovering how different animals live and are cared for. We are also looking forward to our upcoming excursion to Myuna Farm in a few weeks, where students will have the opportunity to see and interact with a variety of animals up close — a perfect way to bring our learning to life!

Writing has been a huge focus this term, and the students have loved participating in a range of language learning experiences to help them create interesting, decodable sentences and develop confidence as young writers. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful and productive term full of curiosity, hands-on experiences, and exciting adventures!

3/4 News -

The 3/4 team has had a busy start to Term 4. In Maths we have been revising how to read maps and understand locations using grid references. We thoroughly enjoyed playing Battleship to help us further consolidate our learning.

In Literacy, we have been focusing on narrative story writing, and exploring the wonderful world of Roald Dahl, particularly "The Twits." Students are enjoying the hilarious descriptive language Mr. Dahl used in his writing.

This term we are continuing learning about Science, namely physical science exploring themes such as heat and friction.

Just a friendly reminder to parents and carers regarding labelling of items:

In Term 4 wide brimmed hats or legionairres caps are required for all outdoor activity... could all hats please be labelled clearly with your child's name, we have so many go missing or end up in lost property, if they are labelled they can be returned immediately.

Many jumpers and drink bottles are also being misplaced and unable to be returned to owners if they are not labelled clearly.

We thank you for your co-operation.
