Supporting Liam W – The Longest Day
The Longest Day is the ultimate golf challenge designed to test skill, strength, and stamina. Participants aim to complete 36, 54, or even 72 holes of golf in a single day, all while raising vital funds for the Cancer Council’s life-saving research.
We are supporting Liam W in his endeavours to raise money for the Cancer Council by participating in The Longest Day of golf. To show our support, we will be offering students Zooper Doopers for $1 one day in Week 6, stay tuned for more information!
A message from Liam W:
"Hi! My name is Liam, I am 10 years old and in Grade 5. The Cancer Council of Australia have a fundraiser called The Longest Day where people play 72 holes of golf — which is my favourite sport — to raise money to help people who are fighting cancer. My Granny and my Pop are currently fighting cancer and my family has lost many special people to the awful disease, so I saw the opportunity to do something I’m good at to raise money for a good cause. My target was to raise $1500 and I actually have already raised more than $1700, but I want to raise more if I can. On the weekend of the 8th and 9th of November, I will play 36 holes of golf at Ballarat Golf Club on the Saturday and 36 holes at Creswick Golf Club on the Sunday. This is a lot of golf in two days and will be a big challenge, but I know I can do it to help all the people who have cancer."
We always love supporting student voice and helping our students take action to make a difference in the wider community.
