Curriculum and Learning

Term 4 Curriculum Update

It is both a privilege and an honour to join the College as the Director of Curriculum, and I extend my sincere thanks to the parents/carers, staff, and students who have so warmly welcomed me into the St Patrick’s College community. Having been educated in the Edmond Rice Tradition and having already witnessed the outstanding learning and collaboration taking place across the College, I am genuinely looking forward to the meaningful work we will accomplish together.

As we commence the final term of the year, it promises to be a dynamic and rewarding one for both students and teachers. Our commitment to learning continues right through to the final school day, Wednesday, 3 December, with students and staff engaging in lessons, assessments, and activities that round off another productive year. Highlights include the Year 7 Camp in Week 3 and the Year 11 Senior Retreat in Week 5, both offering opportunities for growth, reflection, and community connection.

Our Year 12 students have completed their formal schooling and now embark on their Higher School Certificate examinations. We extend our best wishes to them as they take this significant step toward their future pathways.

Meanwhile, Year 11 students begin their HSC journey this term, completing the first of their formal assessments for the 2026 HSC credential. Those undertaking VET courses will also participate in their second industry work placements, gaining valuable real-world experience.

Teachers are currently finalising Year 11 Academic Reports, which will be available via Parent Orbit App by the end of the week. Yearly reports for Years 5–10 will follow on Thursday, 27 November, ahead of the Optional Parent–Teacher Interviews on Thursday, 4 December.

Beyond the classroom, staff are actively engaged in curriculum evaluation, planning, and program development in preparation for next year, including writing programs for the many new syllabi. Preparations are also well underway for the College’s Annual Speech Night, to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Quay Centre on Wednesday, 3 December. This will be a celebration of the achievements and spirit that define our community.

These are just some of the many activities shaping our curriculum this term. I encourage you to reach out if I can be of assistance or support in any way.
