For the HSC Class of 2026, it’s a critical time for students to start planning their post-HSC pathway. To ensure your child does not miss out on vital information—especially regarding university applications, scholarships, and employment opportunities—I have created two essential Google Classrooms.
These classrooms are my primary and official method of communication for all things related to future planning.
My goal is to eliminate the problem of students "not knowing what was going on." By ensuring your child is enrolled in the relevant classroom now, they will have direct access to all deadlines, resources, and updates well in advance.
Action Required by Your Child
Please ensure your child joins at least one, or both, of the following Google Classrooms this week.
All Things Employment (HSC 2026) - For any student planning to enter the workforce, traineeships, or apprenticeships directly after school. Class code j2rhaej5
All Things Tertiary (HSC 2026) - For any student considering University after school or after a GAP year. Class code fq57e2xs
As parents you can request to join these Classrooms. You will then receive a Weekly email which summarises what has been posted. It will also then give you the ability to open Classroom and see all posts. If you are interested in this please email murrayk@ww.catholic.edu.auand in the subject line state which Classroom and the name of your son/daughter
Additional important information for Tertiary students.
We are commencing a 'Tertiary Education Basics' program in Term 4 to ensure all students establish foundational knowledge about post-school options before Year 12.
Logistics:
- What: Six short, 15-minute introductory seminars.
- When: Term 4, Weeks 3–8.
- Where: Held in the Hall during Coaching (Day to be advised).
- How: Students will be marked off in Coaching and proceed to the Hall for the session to start at 9.00am
Topics will include:
- What is Tertiary Education? (Uni, TAFE, Private Providers)
- Investigating courses and pathways
- What is a Degree? (Undergraduate vs. Postgraduate)
- Selection Ranks & Adjustment Factors
- Admission Centres & Applying to University
- Early Entry & Education Access Scheme + Holiday Suggestions
Please Note: All information sheets and detailed resources from these seminars will be uploaded exclusively to the All Things Tertiary Google Classroom. If your child has any interest in university, please strongly encourage them to attend these sessions and access the resources in the classroom.
