Welcome to the College Library!

WELCOME TO TERM 4

Welcome to Term 4! We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable break and are ready to dive back into the world of books, knowledge and learning. The library team has been hard at work over the break, preparing new resources, displays and activities to enhance your library experience. We are very excited about the new library building coming soon, and we are looking forward to sharing the space with you when it is ready.

The library is a hub of learning, creativity and imagination, and we encourage you to make the most of its resources and services. Whether you need help with research, want to explore new worlds through fiction, or simply need a quiet space to study, the library is here for you. We look forward to seeing you all in the library and wish you a successful and fulfilling term ahead.

NEW SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

The latest issue of the Scholastic Book Club is out now! If you are wishing to put in an order, please make sure you have it in by the due date (see below). If you have any questions regarding anything ‘book club’, The library is more than happy to assist you.  FYI: Please return by Friday October 20th

WELCOMING NEW STUDENTS

Term 4 has welcomed several new faces at Kyabram P-12 College. This has brought some new students into the library to explore and see what it has to offer. During this week, new student Chloe Muir (3/4B) visited the library during her first borrowing session. She experienced the library space, different books, and the genre system, and read to some friends. The library is a special space for all individuals where they can feel embraced and content, all while experiencing the wonder of books. The library staff always look forward to sharing these moments with individuals whether they are new or current students.

BE A STAR READER THIS TERM

The Star Reader Award Program pays recognition to a couple of students each term, which highlight outstanding reading and commitment to their learning. Get involved by demonstrating your love of reading, pick some new and different books, and ask the library team if you need some guidance when selecting your next book. You could be the next Star Reader!

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - LIBRARY MONITORS

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to get involved in our school library. The library team is opening up early expressions of interest for some library monitors. This is a great chance to develop leadership skills, gain valuable work experience, and contribute to the school community.

As a library monitor, you will play an important role in supporting the library to run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities may include shelving books, assisting other students with finding materials, organising displays, and helping to maintain a quiet and orderly environment. If you are interested in this opportunity, please pay a visit to the library and speak to the friendly staff. This is open to students from Grades 3-10, we will be taking expressions of interest all term.

We look forward to hearing from you and working together to make our school library the best it can be.

Many thanks, The Library Team: Jen, Karen, Meg.
