Reconciliation

Family Faith Night

On Thursday 5th October at 6pm our Year 3 students and their families will gather in the year 3 and 4 classrooms to have our Family Faith Night - Father Jerome will come and visit us to speak about the Sacrament and we will have the opportunity to explore the beginnings of how amazing it is to receive love and mercy from God. We look forward to a night filled with prayer and reflection.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

Jesus speaks to us in many ways - one of the ways Jesus teaches us is through Parables - you might be familiar with the Parable of the Good Samaritan, or the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

The parable of the Lost Sheep teaches us the love of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and how God always seeks to be in relationship with us!

The Lost Sheep - Luke 15:1-7

15 Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

3 So he told them this parable: 4 “Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? 5 When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

You might like to listen to some parables as a family via Fr Mike Schmitz’s podcast Bible in a Year each day Fr Mike records a section of the bible and gives a brief explanation - after a year you complete the Bible in full!

October the Month of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary

We are in the month of October - the Month of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary! This is a great time to spend reflecting on the beautiful gift given to us by Mary - Mother of God!

Our school has some very beautiful rosary beads from Fatima - there is a large set with soil in it from Fatima.
