Year 5/6 News

Summer Sport

Last term we participated in Summer Sport in tennis, volleyball and cricket. We really had fun, even though we mostly lost, but still it didn’t matter if we won or lost, at least we had some experience of the new sports we played.

Hoop Time

On Monday 4th September, some of the Year 5/6 students went to the State Basketball Centre to participate in Hoop Time. There were Boy All Stars 1 and 2, Girl All Stars, and 3 Future Stars teams. All those teams tried their best in playing basketball at Hoop Time and some of the teams won and some lost. Overall, it was a great day!

Victorian State School Spectacular

It was a very busy end of last term for the 16 State School Spectacular students. On Thursday 7th and Friday 8th September, we met at Glen Waverley Station and caught the train to John Cain Arena for two long days of rehearsals. We practised how to get in and out of the arena quickly, and learned how to do quick costume changes in between all eight dances. 

Saturday was our show day! We had two shows, one at 1.00pm and the other at 6.00pm. It was so cool to see the full crowd of people as we entered the stadium. We were all very tired after the three days, but it was a great experience for everyone!
