Gardening

Students in years 3 - 6 have been very productive in the garden as we kick off term 4.

We have been potting up a range of indigenous seedlings from VINC such as

Billy Buttons, Common Everlasting daisies and Sticky Everlasting Paper daisies to help support TPS fundraising activities and to also plant out at school. The greenhouse is brimming with vegie seedlings and herbaceous plants ready to plant out / sell.

We have been working on updating signage in the farm, and utilising fresh pruning from the butterfly bushes to weave a fence in the prep playground. Big thanks to Ian for instigating this project!

We are very excited to bake some freshly dug potatoes and have been nibbling on salad greens, borage, herbs and snow peas.

Students have delighted in observing minibeasts in the garden which has led to elaborate and imaginative storytelling of the lives and adventures of dragonflies, snails, worms, moths and grubs.

Utilising pruning from our apple trees, students have constructed nature journals that will be used throughout the term to record our observations of the natural world 🌎

Please come along and support the plant stall at our upcoming fundraising events - the majority of plants have been lovingly raised by TPS students and our community 😊
