Class 1 Steiner

Celebrating Learning

Our first main lesson for term 4 is our class play! We’ve been rehearsing everyday and 1S have been working so well together to choose characters, practice lines, design costumes and sets.

There has been a real sense of community and care for one other, mixed in with lots of excitement and nerves. The play date is to be announced.

Evelyn: “The rehearsals are really fun and I think the play is going to be fun too, but I’m still a little bit nervous”
Ivy M: “I think the birds are doing really good with their lines”
Grace: “Everyone is doing really well with learning their lines”

Sophie: “Everyone is being so brave to say their lines on stage”
Orcah: “I love the play because I get to be in the background and I can’t wait to see all the smiles on parents faces and I really hope that you like the show. I really think it’s gonna be amazing!

Pax: “I like my characters and I love how I’m doing it with Otto. I hope you like the play”
Ivy I: “I really like it because I like my characters and I think everyone is doing such a good job and you will like it”

Leo: “I am very nervous”
Lila: “I am very excited but also very nervous to perform”

Our focus for maths has been fractions (place value, sharing). Students have been exploring these concepts through stories, performance, hands on activities and open-ended investigations. A highlight was guessing how many skittles were in a jar before figuring out how many each person could have when we shared them with the class.
