Farewell to the Class of 2023

Our Year 12 students had an amazing Celebration Day on Thursday 19 October, enjoying a cooked breakfast, a morning tea with staff and student awards, a whole school final assembly and a lot of fun! This remarkable group of young individuals began their journey with us back in 2018 as wide-eyed Year 7 students, taking their first steps into high school.  This week, they are Year 12 students, beginning their final exams and preparing to step into the next chapter of their lives. On behalf of the College Community, I would like to thank our Year 12 students for their commitment to their learning and for the many contributions they have made to our community over the years.  We are extremely proud of their achievements during their time at Lilydale Heights College.

I would also like to thank the Year 12 parents, caregivers and families who have supported their children and our College.  Year 12 is such a significant year for students and your unwavering love, patience and support for your children has been instrumental in guiding them to this point.

Thank you to our dedicated teachers and Education Support Staff who have been an integral part of these students' lives since Year 7. They have committed themselves to supporting their learning each year, going above and beyond to ensure that our students' time at Lilydale Heights College was full of learning, growth and memories.

A special thank you also needs to go to Ms Steeper and Mr McGown for their continued support and leadership of our Year 12 students. The relationships they've fostered and the dedication they've shown in ensuring a positive learning experience for all our students has ensured that our Year 12’s have had every opportunity to succeed.

I would like to wish our Year 12 students the greatest success for their exams. Stay focused over the coming weeks, seek help from your teachers when needed, remain resilient and continue to aim for excellence. You have studied hard and you are prepared. Use your exams as an opportunity to showcase everything that you have learned. Congratulations and good luck!

End of Year Showcase

Our End of Year Concert took place recently and highlighted the musical growth, talent and creativity of our students. The Performing Arts Centre came alive with an array of musical performances, showcasing the extraordinary skills and dedication of our students. The concert featured a diverse lineup of bands, each contributing their unique musical skills to create a memorable evening. The culmination of the evening ended with our Concert Combined Band, where all our Music students took to the stage. The End of Year Concert was not only a celebration of musical talent but a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our students and teachers. I would like to extend my appreciation to everyone involved in making this event a success, from the performers to the Music staff and all the behind the scenes support. The concert was a reminder of the importance of The Arts in our school, nurturing creativity, teamwork and a lifelong love for music. It was a wonderful way to conclude our musical performances for the year and I look forward to seeing our Music students continue to grow in the years to come.
