Principal Team Update

Hi BPS families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you around the school grounds yesterday afternoon and into the evening, as Parent Teacher Interviews took place. These conversations play an important role in supporting student success. They provide a chance to celebrate progress, discuss learning goals, and ensure parents and carers are informed and involved in their child’s education. We look forward to seeing many of you onsite today for our second afternoon of meetings.
Celebrating Outstanding 2025 NAPLAN Results
We are proud to share our 2025 NAPLAN results, which reflect the exceptional efforts of our students and staff. These outstanding outcomes are a testament to the hard work, commitment, and collective dedication of the entire Beaumaris Primary School community.
The results highlight the strength of our Teaching & Learning approach, underpinned by research-informed, evidence-based practice. Our staff have worked diligently to establish a shared understanding and ensure consistent implementation across all year levels.
For further insights into our Teaching & Learning and Wellbeing practices, we encourage you to read the Topic Spotlight newsletter articles.

We extend our congratulations to every student and teacher for their contribution to this success. Together, we continue to build a culture of excellence in teaching and learning at Beaumaris.
A huge thank you to Mr Max Pretty for his outstanding organisation and leadership of the Years 4, 5 and 6 House Athletics Carnival. We also extend our sincere thanks to the BPS staff and parent volunteers whose support made the day such a success. And weren’t we lucky with the weather!
Congratulations to all of our students who participated with enthusiasm, gave every event their best shot, and cheered each other on throughout the day. One of the first things shared by a staff member at the track was how impressed they were by the way students, across all age groups, congratulated the winners, regardless of where they placed themselves. The camaraderie, encouragement and kindness on display made us incredibly proud.
Please enjoy a reflection from Mr Pretty below:
On the 28th of July the students in Years 4-6 descended on Sandringham athletics track for the House Athletics Carnival. They competed in a range of track and field events, having fun with their friends and earning house points throughout the day for their performance. Congratulations to Mitchell for taking out the trophy this year! We want to also recognise the parent helpers who volunteered their time on the day to help run activities, supporting students and teachers. Thank you very much for your time.
Congratulations to our wonderful Prep students on reaching 100 days of Prep! This special milestone celebrates all the learning, growing, and friendships they’ve built since starting school. They approach their school days with confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm. We trust they enjoyed the celebrations with their teachers, Year 6 buddy and family.
We will be holding an Open Afternoon next Friday 15th August at 3pm. Families are warmly invited to visit their child’s classroom to see some of the wonderful learning in action and share in the experience together.
Please ensure you read through to our Topic Spotlight section, where we share our next instalment in our series on Teaching & Learning and Wellbeing at Beaumaris Primary School. This Topic Spotlight is all about our whole school and classroom routines in place he at BPS. If you'd like to revisit our last instalment on Cognitive Load Theory, it can be found here.
