Centenary Ripples Magazine

Calling All Writers:

Help Us Tell the Story of 100 Years at Northcote High School!

In 2026, Northcote High School will celebrate a remarkable milestone — 100 years of education in our community. As part of our celebrations, we are producing a special Centenary Ripples Magazine: a commemorative publication that will capture the rich history, voices, events and spirit of the school across the decades.

We are now looking for contributors and authors to help write the stories that will bring this magazine to life.

Whether you’re a current or former staff member, student, family member, or part of the wider Northcote community, we invite you to help us tell the stories that matter most. You might:

  • Share memories from a specific decade
  • Research and write about school productions, sporting achievements or alumni
  • Reflect on big events — such as wartime service, school reform, or the impact of COVID-19
  • Contribute to themed articles on the library, music, the art show, or multiculturalism at NHS. You could even suggest a theme that should be included in the publication.

We’re looking for short articles, interviews, personal reflections, and even photos or memorabilia to help paint a vivid and engaging portrait of the school’s journey.

Don’t consider yourself a writer? No problem — we can organise for you to work in a writing team where you can shape your ideas.

Interested in contributing? Please emailinfo@nhs.vic.edu.au with the Subject: Centenary Ripples Magazine to express your interest or suggest a topic you’d like to cover or for our team of writers to write on your behalf.

Let’s make the Centenary Ripples a true celebration of our shared history — told in the voices of the people who know it best.

The Centenary Ripples will be on sale throughout 2026, our centenary year, as part of the celebrations.
