Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians and Friends of Nazareth
It is becoming evident that College life is hectic. Many of our students have many curricular and cocurricular activities to choose from. A good example of this was a VET Expo when all our Year 9 and 10 students were able to visit our proposed VET offerings for 2026 and beyond. There are so many outstanding opportunities for our young people to choose from. How can they decide what is best for them?
In the coming month, they will also need to decide what subjects they would like to do in the upcoming year. Years 7 and 8 have limited choices. However, as you graduate into the later-middle and senior years, there are an abundance of options and career pathways that need to be considered.
Subject Selection Evenings/Career Expo will help families explore all possibilities before making their choices. Further information will be available to our Year 10 students and families on Wednesday 13 August at the Year 10 Advice Day.
If families require further assistance with their deliberations, please feel free to contact your subject teacher or staff at the College, facilitating the new process;

Special highlights for the last fortnight
Volleyballers
Intense training and competition are building the school’s reputation in the sport, but more importantly, the skill level and friendships formed are so beneficial.
Aerobics Team
Friday 1 August saw the College Aerobics Team compete against other schools in order to qualify for the National Competition in Queensland later in the year. I congratulate the girls on their efforts and outstanding performances. From the 22 students who attended,18 have qualified.
Teen Chef
This coming week, the Nazareth Teen Chefs Amelie Mauceri, Liani Mademlis, Alice Cheng and Elisha Mac will compete in this annual competition. I congratulate them and wish them all the very best. They have been training for the past three months and the plates of food they have prepared and served have been exceptional. We look forward to hearing the results.
Year 9 Reflection Day
I thank our Year 9s on how they made the most of the day. Activities were enjoyed by all who attended and reports from the presenters were complimentary of our students and staff.
Deb Ball Presentation
On Saturday evening, 2 August, 16 of our Year 11 students and 4 past students were presented at the event. I thank each of them and their families for the support and participation in this event. I would like to highlight Caitlin Mackay for her passion and love of ensuring that young people are given numerous positive experiences in their schooling life. Without her passion, these types of activities would not have the school's support.
Finally, the building project continues to go ahead despite the rain and the mud.
It is hoped by our next edition, the foundation and slab will be completed.
May God Bless
Mr Sam Cosentino
