Instrumental Music News

Vermont Secondary College

WELCOME BACK MUSIC TEAM!!

We are thrilled to be back into the swing of things after what has been a good break.

The Music team are ready and filled with enthusiasm to get a start on this years Program, and places have filled up in record time.

Currently, places for lessons in Guitar, Bass, Drums/Percussion, Flute and Strings are full and have a waiting list. However, we are still recruiting for Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Clarinet, Bassoon, Euphonium and Voice.

If you are still interested in learning a musical instrument for 2024, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Music Centre.  Phone: 8872 6369

Or come and collect an Enrolment form from Mr. Mizzi in the Music Office.

LESSONS

Our Instrumental Music Lessons will commence week 3 (starting Monday 12th February) or as soon as we have received your enrolment form.

Students can find their lesson times on their Compass schedule.

ENSEMBLES

Ensemble rolls have been collated and will be posted on to the Compass schedule. We will start ensemble rehearsals in week 3.

(Except Junior String Orchestra and Rookie Band which will start in week 6 after school camp)

PAYMENTS

All payments for the program can be set up and self-managed via the Compass Parent Portal. If you have any trouble with setting up payment instalments, please contact the Music Centre. Once you have enrolled, you will receive a separate email with a link to set up payments.

HIRING INSTRUMENTS

For students who have opted to hire an instrument for 2024, instruments will be allocated during your first lesson by your instrumental Music Teachers. If a hire agreement has been signed and returned to the school, the student can take their instrument home as of next week.

MUSIC SUPPORT GROUP

The Music Support Group (MSG) is a group of parents, students and friends who support the instrumental music program with fundraising, concert events and excursions throughout the year. The group meets for an hour twice a term after hours to discuss upcoming events and to share ideas about how best to support the Music Program here at Vermont.  It is a great way to meet other parents, make a connection with the school and provide support for students involved. If you are interested in participating, volunteering, or getting involved, please contact 8872 6369.

I look forward to seeing you all this year.
