Library News

Welcome to the College Library!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE RESOURCE LIBRARY

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful memories we've made together in the school library. This year has been challenging, but we are proud of how we have adapted to the changes and continued to provide a safe and welcoming space for all.

With the recent opening of the new Resource Library, we are grateful for the support of our school community in making it the hub of learning and exploration. The library has been a place where students have discovered new books, explored new ideas, and developed a love for reading. We are constantly amazed by the creativity and enthusiasm of our students, and we are thrilled to support their growth as learners.

To our staff and parents, we want to express our gratitude for the incredible partnerships we have established this year. Your support and encouragement have been vital in helping us to create a library that truly reflects the needs and interests of our community.

As we approach the holiday season, we want to wish everyone a safe and joyful break. We hope that you will take the time to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the library in the new year, and we can't wait to see what exciting adventures await us in 2024.

From the Library Team: Jen, Karen, Meg.

LIBRARY MONITORS FOR 2024

Throughout term 4, the College Resource Library has been planning the implementation of the library monitor program. This leadership opportunity is a great chance for students to develop initiative and responsibility skills, gain valuable work experience, and contribute to the school community.

The role of library monitors play an important part within the school community, ensuring the library runs smoothly and efficiently. Some responsibilities include shelving books, assisting other students with finding materials, organising displays, and helping to maintain a quiet and orderly environment.

Expressions of interest from students in grades 3-10 have been collected and we are excited to be announcing our first monitors for term 1 next year.

If you are interested in this opportunity, there is still time to express your interest. Please pay a visit to the library and speak to the friendly staff.

TERM 4 STAR READER

The Star Reader Award Program pays recognition to students each term, who display outstanding reading and commitment to their learning. Well done to the winner for term 4, the final winner for 2023. Congratulations Travis Hastings – (3/4B) for his continued efforts and future commitment to reading!
