Art

The Grade 1/2’s have started working on their first drawing project for 2024. They viewed artworks by James Rizzi, learning about discussing how he uses bright colours and whacky designs in his art. Taking some inspiration from Rizzi's cityscape artworks, students have begun planning and designing their own whacky cityscape drawings.

The Grade 3/4’s have been learning about stained glass window art and have started planning and designing their “stained glass window effect” drawing using PVA glue and soft pastels.

The Grade 5/6 students have been learning about the Brazillian artist, Romero Britto and discussing the characteristics of his artwork. Using some inspiration from Britto’s artwork, students have thought about the things in their life that are special to them, and chosen a symbol to represent this idea as the main focus of their drawing project along with adding bold, bright colours and patterns.
