Japanese News Week 3

Welcome to 2024 Japanese! 

Students have had a great start of the year, 2024 - the year of the Dragon! All students learnt about the zodiac animals, especially this year's animal - Dragon. Last week, the Grade 1/2 students revised the basic greetings and now they are expected to use the Japanese greetings during the Japanese classes and at school yard when they see me. The Grade 3 to 6 learnt about Hiragana, which is one of the Japanese writing systems. Students learnt how to use the Hiragana chart. The Grade 3/4 focused on how to read and write Hiragana characters, while the Grade 5/6 students focused on how to read, write and type them. The goal for the students is to become independent Japanese learners.
