Prep/Year 4 Buddies

After spending the first four weeks learning all about how to be a Prep at Elsternwick Primary School, the Prep class of 2024 were ready to meet their Year 4 Buddies! Our year 4 students have been waiting very patiently to find out who they were to support with the transition to being a full time student. They were more than ready to begin the experience of being a mentor and leader to the younger students. 

After the introduction, the Year 4s took their buddy to a shady area on the oval to present the letter they had written for them, then spend some time getting to know each other and reading some picture story books together. The session concluded with having lunch together and planning for their next meeting - running the 300k track together this Friday! The Year 4 students all demonstrated the learner asset skill of being Communicators by making sure their buddies felt Safe, Valued and Respected at all times.
