Primary Music Ensembles

Wanju Voices Sign-Ups

  • Who: Years 4 to 6 students who love to sing.
  • When: Monday 5 February, Osborne Room at 7:30am
  • Process: Come along and be ready to sing!

Primary Singers – First Rehearsal

  • Who: Years 2 to 3 students who love to sing.
  • When: Thursday 8 February, Osborne Room at 8:00am
  • Process: Come along and be ready to sing!

Secondary Music Ensembles – Auditions

Please see below for details of auditions for the College’s various co-curricular ensembles:

 

Treble Choir Auditions

  • Who: Years 7, 8 and 9 students who love to sing. No singing lessons are required. *Please note: Treble Choir is a prerequisite for Year 9 students wishing to audition for Chamber Choir in Term 3.
  • When: Wednesday 7 February, Performing Arts Centre from 3:15pm
  • Process: Come to the GBLT and split into pairs, ready to sing a verse or chorus from any song.

Wind, Concert and Swing Band Auditions

  • Who: Years 7 to 12 students learning flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, bass guitar, saxophone or percussion/drums.
  • When: Thursday 8 and 15 February, Performing Arts Centre from 7:00am
  • Process: Sign up outside the Music Office, bring your instrument and play a piece from 2023.

Chamber Orchestra

  • Who: Years 7 to 12 students who learn violin, viola, cello or double bass.
  • When: Wednesday 14 February, Osborne Room from 7:00am
  • Process: Sign up inside the Music Office and collect a short excerpt to practice and play in the audition.

Chapel Choir

Chapel Choir is open to all Years 1 to 12 students who love singing, with a focus on liturgical music. Rehearsals commence at 7:30am in the Chapel with Mrs Haydon and Mr Johnston. Chapel Choir then sings at Community Mass (commencing at 8:00am). Secondary students who sing in the choir may include this time in their Roncalli Service hours. The next Chapel Choir rehearsal and Community Mass is in Week 3 on Friday 16 February 2024. Please contact Mrs Haydon (Catherine.Haydon@johnxxiii.edu.au) for more information.

Withdrawal from Music Lessons

Please note that withdrawals from lessons for Semester 1 have now closed.

Withdrawals from Semester 2 must be submitted by Friday 7 June at 4:00pm
