SCC SCHOOL SPORTS 2024 – Expressions of Interest
Dear Parents and Carers,
Expressions of interest are being sought for Southern Christian College sports teams for 2024. Enrolling in a sport involves a commitment from parent and child for the length of the roster, some sports are term-based, others run for ‘seasons’ of varying length.
Each year, the College seeks to provide as many opportunities as possible for students to build their fitness, develop their skills and engage in a physical activity through team and individual- based sports. Sports teams require the active support of parents in leading and mentoring children. For the students, being a part of a team is an important educational experience for children and one that we value.
If your son or daughter is interested in registering for an SCC sports team, please complete the form below. This will help us to determine the viability of teams and sports. It is vital that we have volunteers who can assist as coaches, managers and, in some cases, referees. Without this support it is often not possible to run teams. Please consider the possibility of your own involvement carefully as this is an important part of the extra-curricular programme of your son or daughter.

SSATIS 2024
SCC is a member of the Southern Sports Association of Tasmanian Independent Schools.
SSATIS rosters are an excellent opportunity for students to have a taste of sports that they may have never tried before.
- SSATIS rosters and carnivals are FREE for Secondary students to participate in.
- They require only a short-term commitment (one term).

Term 1 SSATIS rosters:
Boys Basketball Yr 7-8 and Yr 9-10
Girls Volleyball Yr 7-8 and Yr 9-10
Team nominations must be submitted before Tuesday 13 February
Kingborough Youth Futsal Competition Term 1
Friday night competition, starting 16th February.
Venue: Kingborough Sports Centre.
7-week competition + Finals (3rd) May.
Nominations close Friday 9th February. Late nominations may not be accepted.
Cost: $450 per team. Payments made prior to start of competition.
Competitions: u7, u8, u9, u10, u11, u12, u13, u14, u15, u16 & u18 Boys and Girls.
Please be sure to select the correct competition and double check with your confirmation email.
Individual FFA registration: Players are required to be individually registered through Play Football prior to competition for futsal (not outdoor).
