LIBRARY DURING LUNCHTIMES

The Library comes especially alive during Senior School lunchtimes. A keen group of regular puzzlers is currently immersed in completing a 1000-piece Paris puzzle, while others use the space for collaborative study or individual reading. The Library is a welcoming space for everyone.

OLYMPIC READING CHALLENGE

Over the past two weeks, our Junior School students have embraced the Olympic spirit by reading books related to various sports. Congratulations to our Olympic Reading Challenge winners!

  • Prep to Year 2 - Robert Adamson, Year 1
  • Year 3 to Year 6 - Emily Piao, Year 3

Thanks to all who participated. A special shoutout goes to Year 1 students Lucy Ung and Mila Cooper for their creative booklet submissions, which will be rewarded with a special prize.

UPCOMING KILVINGTON BOOK WEEK

Only a few more sleeps till Kilvington Book Week. We can hardly wait! Don’t forget Dress Up Parade is next Tuesday 20 August.

All parents and guardians are invited to join in the fun. We have a jam-packed week with activities and competitions. Find out more ideas here

We're looking forward to seeing all your magical creatures as part of our drawing competition. Jenny Stephens, our Year 6 Library Leader, has planned lots of fun activities for recess. Keep an eye on the website or classroom posters for more information.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

We’re eagerly anticipating the Battle of the Books next Thursday, where a Year 5 team will test their knowledge against a Year 6 team. The students have been busy reading the four nominated books: Huda Was Here by H Hayek, Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannen Messenger, Paper-Flower Girl by Magrete Lamond and Squished by Megan Wagner Lloyd. It promises to be an exciting battle!

A TOUCH OF PJS

Finally, don't miss 'A Touch of PJs' on Friday 23 August. We encourage students to bring in a PJ top or oodie, along with their favourite bedtime read to share with their friends.
