Wellbeing

At Balambalam PS, we recognise that strong partnerships between home and school play a vital role in supporting every child’s learning, wellbeing, and development. Supporting and nurturing student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do as a school community. When our students feel safe and connected, they are more confident learners and better equipped to manage everyday challenges.
When we create consistent, caring environments both at home and at school, simple everyday actions—such as maintaining predictable routines, encouraging conversations, and celebrating effort—can make a significant difference in a child’s sense of belonging and emotional wellbeing.
To support our families, we would like to highlight Anglicare’s ParentZone, a free parenting support service available to parents, carers, and families. ParentZone offers practical guidance, resources, and personalised support to help build confidence in parenting and strengthen positive family relationships. Whether you are seeking strategies to support your child’s behaviour, emotional wellbeing, or development, this service provides a welcoming and supportive space to connect with experienced professionals. We encourage families to explore this valuable opportunity as part of our shared commitment to nurturing happy, resilient, and thriving children.
What ParentZone offers:
- Free parenting programs and workshops for all stages — from newborns to teenagers — focusing on communication, behaviour strategies, emotional development, and family relationships.
- ParentZone Pods, a series of podcasts discussing common parenting concerns and helpful approaches for everyday situations.
- Support is available in-person across Victoria and online, which includes resources and training for professionals as well as parents.
