Instrumental Music 2024

In 2024, we will once again be offering instrumental music lessons.

Great Ryrie Primary School encourages students to learn musical instruments and develop new skills through the school music program. Students are provided with the opportunity to learn a musical instrument through private tuition, during school hours. Our instrumental music tutors are all musicians who work professionally in the industry as well as teach both in schools and privately in studios or homes.

Our qualified tutors are able to teach a variety of instruments including:

  • Bass Guitar *
  • Drums/Percussion
  • Trumpet *
  • Trombone *
  • Euphonium *
  • Saxophone *
  • Clarinet *
  • Flute *
  • Violin*
  • Cello
  • Piano
  • Contemporary Keyboard
  • Guitar (All styles)*
  • Voice/Singing

A limited number of these instruments are available for hire from the school at $130 per semester (6 months) or $260 year (February to December). A refundable bond of $70 must be paid at the beginning of the hire period and will be refunded upon the return of the instrument in good, operational order. Asterixed (*) instruments only.

Students are only permitted to learn 1 instrument during school hours.

In 2024, there will be the option of a 20 minute individual lesson OR a 30 minute individual lesson per week for 8 weeks, each term. The following prices are based on an 8 week term.

  • 20 min individual lesson $224 per term
  • 30 min individual lesson $328 per term

Term 1 payment must be made by the second lesson of Term 1 2024. Lessons will commence during the 2nd full week of Term 1, 2024. Non payment by the due date will result in the students’ place being offered to another student.

Additional equipment required to learn an instrument is the responsibility of the parent to purchase. Tutors will keep any books that will be required to a minimum.

Enrolment forms for lessons in 2024 will be available on Compass from Monday 4th December, 2023 and from the main office.

Confirmation of acceptance in the program will be provided to parents prior to the end of the first full week of Term 1 in 2024.

ALL STUDENTS WISHING TO LEARN AN INSTRUMENT IN 2024 MUST COMPLETE A NEW ENROLMENT FORM (EVEN THOSE WHO WERE ALREADY LEARNING IN 2023.
