Principal Report

Carols tonight!

We are very much looking forward to seeing children in all of our classes perform some carols for our community this evening. Our ARPS choir will also be performing, gearing up for their big shopping centre ‘tour’ on 18th December. We encourage families to bring along fold up chairs, wear your Christmas gear and spend some time connecting with the school community.

Our Staff  will run the BBQ and will start from 5pm, with drinks and icypoles also on sale. EFTPOS will be available to families and cash is also acceptable. Of course, families can also bring a picnic to enjoy together.

Carols commence from around 5.30pm.

Graduation next week

Next Wednesday 13th December, our year 6 students will attend their Graduation ceremony to celebrate 7 years of primary schooling and their transition to secondary school. We are very proud of the many achievements of our year 6 cohort and wish them all well as they move on from Albany Rise.

Many thanks to the staff and parents who have been working to ensure the evening event will be an exciting and positive one for the students to remember. We look forward to sharing some of the images and awards from the event in next Weeks’s newsletter.

Swimming

Our students have been enjoying a well-coordinated and effective swimming program which will continue into next week. We have had many students participating this year, which indicates the community understanding of the importance of water safety. Staff and students are highly appreciative of the many parents who have come to support the program by assisting at the pool, particularly with our younger students. A big thanks to Ms Kelsall, teaching and support staff, and our administration team for the planning and implementation of this highly important program.

Parent Helpers

It was lovely to see many familiar faces from our wonderful group of parent helpers at our Morning Tea on Tuesday morning. We have so many wonderful parents (and grandparents) who assist with reading every day; excursions, swimming, sports events, working bees, school production, general maintenance, Parents Association fundraisers, and so much more! We could not have the wonderful special events and streamlined learning programs without the support of our many parent volunteers. Thank you all for a wonderful year! We hope to see you continue your support in 2024.

Working bee

Many thanks to all those families who supported our twilight Working Bee on Friday last week.  We had a strong group of parents and students help with a range of tasks, including planting several trees and shrubs for our edible indigenous garden, installing new garden beds in the kitchen garden area, moving mulch, painting dots, sorting costumes, hedging and so much more!

THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!

Thank you to the following families for your support!:

Clarke, Lampugnani, Green, Cheslett, Summersett, Lewis, Dunford, Horua, Padfields, Jones, Akuratiuage and Calder.

Families leaving the school & Enrolments

We are continuing to receive a number of ‘late’ enrolments to various year levels for 2024. Any families who are aware of new children in the area considering enrolling at ARPS, are asked to encourage them to enrol as soon as possible to allow us to confirm class numbers.

Please assist our planning for 2024 by providing written notification if, due to moving out of the area or changed family circumstances, your child will not be attending our school next year.

2024 Parent Payments: Reminder

Information regarding the 2024 Parent Payments was distributed 3 weeks ago.  If you would like to choose a payment plan option, please remember to contact the office directly as soon as possible.

To avoid a ‘late’ fee from Ross Office supplies, parent purchase of stationary should be completed by 18th December.

Purchased books can be collected from the office (for parents to name/ cover etc) for year 1 to 6 students on Thursday 25th January. Foundation families for 2024 can leave their books at the school, as the Foundation teachers will name and label these books.
